Embedded Blog

Week beginning 9th July 2018

Since our last blog, we have been extremely busy!

Our trip to Winchester Science centre and Planetarium was a wonderful day, full of great activities and explorations. Blasting our handmade rockets, being transported to a starry night with magial stories of centuries old and taking part in many mini experiments, we found ourselves having an amazing day and putting our knowledge to the test! The centre's staff were very impressed with our understanding and thought the questions we asked were amazing! Well done team Sparrows!

This coming week we will be continuing our investigations of force and linking the concept of gravity to our learning. We will be questioning why our rockets on our trip came back down to Earth. In English, we will have the choice to write a newspaper report about our trip to the Science Centre or the experiences of the World Cup 2018. In Maths, we will return to our learning of the four operations and apply our understandings to solve problems. We will finish our journey through history by looking at the timeline of space travel. Art and Design will see us designing, creating and evaluating models of aliens, completing our theme of space for the term.

As the end of term and academic year is nearly upon us we will begin to think about our time in Year 2 and our aspirations that we will take forward into Year 3.

An exciting two weeks ahead. To find out more and keep updated visit our seasaw page or pop into our class.
