Clubs

We run a rich and varied programme of clubs. Most are run by staff, others are run by parent volunteers and we also have a number of qualified coaches who run some of our sports clubs. We are proud of the standards in our clubs and the children enjoy the exciting opportunities on offer.

  • After school clubs generally run from 3.15pm at the end of the school day for an hour.
  • Lunchtime clubs run from 12.15 to 12.55pm.

If as a parent you would like to offer to help run a club, or you have an idea for a new club, please see Mrs McGarry or mention it to Mrs Renshaw in the office.

Sports Clubs

Lunchtime 'Get Involved' Clubs have been run by Y6 children who are trained 'Sports Leaders'. They are overseen by Mrs McGarry as they teach younger children new skills in multisports.

In the past year we have run the following sports clubs - either run by teachers or external coaches:

  • Judo
  • Netball
  • Football
  • Tag Rugby
  • Ultimate Frisbee
  • Cricket
  • Dance
  • Running

Curriculum Enrichment Clubs

We have a number of clubs that give the children a chance to continue their love of a subject outside of school. For example:

  • Maths Club
  • Art Club
  • Cookery Club
  • Book Club
  • SATS booster Club
  • Drama Club

Practical Skills

Some of our clubs are aimed at giving children the opportunity to spend longer developing practical skils. The following clubs have been very popular this year:

  • Lego Club
  • Growing Schools Club
  • Cookery Club
  • The Burbage Buzz - producing a school newspaper
  • Boys Writing Club
